[vlc] Bookmarking videos

I often want to "bookmark" a video I'm watching. In other words, I
want VLC to write the name of the video file I'm watching + current
timestamp to a file called VLCMARKS.TXT or something similar.

Ideally, I'd like the option to add a text comment.

Is there an easy way to do this?
