[vlc] open folder on local or network drives

My OS

XP Pro Ver;2002 sp 3

 

VLC version; 1.1.2

 

Dell PWS690. Xeon cpu 5160 @ 3GHz. 3 G ram

 

Since I updated the install to the version above, when opening any media
folder by using the toolbar 'media/open folder' I get the following error.
Previous version was 1.1.
