[vlc] libmad vlc error

Dear Concerned,

Getting the below error when compiling vlc.

checking for mad_bit_init in -lmad... no
configure: error: Cannot find libmad library...


I have installed libmad library but still nothing happens. I am on Solaris
10 hosted on a Sparc.

Will appreciate you help
