[vlc] recording and ripping

This whole program is great. I am so glad i finally found a program that can do it all.
Some questions about the version 1.1.0 (latest):


What is the recording option, how does it work and how do you use it?
How would you go about RIPPING a dvd to the hard drive such as mp4 format?
