Hello Volker,

I am not familiar with the files you are trying to watch.

However, I am wondering about two things:

1. What the "total stream bitrate" of the file?
2. What is the "video stream bitrate of the file?

You can find the answer to these two questions by using an
app like "MediaInfo Mac 0.7.33.4 " or "VideoSpec 0.8.2".

The reason why I ask these questions is because if the "total
stream bitrate" is too high -- because the file is HD -- it
may possibly be that your GeForce 8600M GT graphics card may
not be powerful enough to play certain video files.

For example, we have a 24" iMac here, as well as a 27" iMac.
Although they are both powerful machines, the 27" can play
some things -- like certain HD mkv's -- which the 24" cannot
play. The graphics card in the 27" is simply better.

I don't know for certain that this is your problem, but I
thought that I'd suggest it to you, just in case.

PS: Please remember to put the [Mac] tag in your subject
line.

Thanks!

SnidelyW
