[vlc] Replace vlc1.0.5 with vlc 1.1.4

When I first downloaded vlc it installed automatically.  It's the default player for most movie clips etc.  I've just downloaded 1.1.4 but had to manually put it in the vlc folder alongside 1.0.5.  How do I make sure the new version gets used instead of the old one?.
