[vlc] Problem installing vlc player RPM on SuSE 11.3

I had no difficulty getting YAST to download and install the vlc player
on SuSE 11.2. I used the player to view my collection of video DVDs,
and was /completely/ satisfied in every way. (A wonderful player!)
Recently, I made a completely clean upgrade to SuSE 11.3.
Now, when I get YAST to download and install the vlc player [the current
RPM (1.1.4) from the videolan web-site], the download proceeds quite
normally EXCEPT that the vlc-noX download fails, with a checksum error.
I have re-tried three or four times over the past ten days or so, and
the result is /always/ the same. Everything downloads and is installed
properly by YAST /except/ for vlc-noX. (Other programs I have downloaded
and installed with YAST have been faultless.)
I have had YAST download and install countless programs (RPMs) over many
years, and have /never/ had a failure. And, no, I have made /no/ changes
to my ordinary, vanilla, Linux box during the past three or four years.
Surely this problem must be due to an error in the data on the videolan
web-site. What can/ I/ do? It is very disappointing -- SuSE 11.3 is a
vast improvement over 11.2; everything is working smoothly, except that
I can't view my DVDs!
I'd appreciate some help,
John
PS It may be helpful for you to know that I first used a digital
computer 55 years ago.
