I was reading & Googling after the OP and came up with the same answer :)

I also learned more about GIT.

(BTW, I am interested in VLC... that is how I got here & why I posted here.)

I think now I may setup both a Windows and a Linux Box and install...
- MinGW (C/C++ compiler)
- CodeBlocks (IDE)
- GIT (version control)

Question: Which Linux Distro do you guys use for working on VLC and other apps?
