[vlc] VLC cone icon

I just downloaded the most recent version of VLC Media Player, Version 4.4.4. I am runnin on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.  I have a Sony Vaio laptop.
 
When I associated my files with VLC Media Player, most of the file icons changed to the orange cone, which I hate.  MP4 files, however, show the picture of the video, like Windows Media Player, and there is a small orange cone in the lower right-hand corner.  I like this a lot.
 
Is there any way for all my file associations to use the one that the mp4 file uses?
