[vlc] VLC Media Player Issues

VLC Media Player Team:

 

I'm running the VLC Media Player 1.1.6 and I wanted to report some issues
with regards to MP3 playback.

 

With some MP3 files, VLC Media Player doesn't display the embedded cover
artwork when playing the file even though all other media players will
display the artwork just fine.  I have an example MP3 file that triggers
this issue if you would like me to send it to you.  The embedded artwork
displays in Windows Media Player, Real Player, etc., but VLC Media Player
doesn't recognize that there's any embedded artwork in the file.

 

Also, I've noticed that VLC Media Player doesn't display the bitrate
correctly with certain MP3s.  Maybe it's only happening with variable
bitrate MP3s but I don't know for sure.  My example MP3 file is a variable
bitrate MP3 but VLC Media Player displays that it's a constant bitrate 128
kb/s MP3.
