[vlc] install problem you guys haven't accounted for but I encountered

Howdie folks.  My name is Gary Barlow and am a part time programmer.  When I
find weird problems with apps I use and enjoy I try to provide help and info
as I woulod hope others might with my programs.

I'm using a Sony VAIO running Vista with fairly current updates, etc. I had,
among other junk in my download dir, the  following two files:

   vlc-1.1.10-win32.exe20,514kb
   vlc-1.1.10-win32(1).exe
