Yes, I'm running 2.4.18 of the kernel.  

I just checked on the margi driver - it's not there.

Check if you have a "margi" driver in your /lib/modules/2.4.18. It is in

/lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/drivers/video/margi (if I remember 
correctly). This will conflict with the drivers from linuxtv.org 
(Dvb-0.9.4) because of a naming conflict.

What actually happens is that drivers for DVB-S reception are loaded 
from the margi directory instead of your DVB-0.9.4 driver. But because 
the margi is a PCMCIA video camera card it is of course not detected and

bails out. Taking all other loaded DVB drivers with it.
