I just tried the current (todays snapshot, of 20060422) tarball, and it has 
the same problem.

Even tho my system does not have yasm, ./configure (no other parameters) 
configures with yasm support, and the same problem as before.

A quick build and install of yasm fixes this, of course, but it seems that 
the configure-script is broken-ish.

If x264 requires yasm to build on x86_64, it would be useful if the 
configure scipt would terminate saying so.
