[x264-devel] x264 on Cell BE ?

Hello !
I have a sony playstation 3 with gentoo installed. I'm trying to run
x264 (altivec option is enabled in compilation) on this platform and it
run very slow:
4-5 fps - one threads
7-8 fps - two threads
on Pentium IV 3 GHz following data is obtained:
12-13 fps - one threads
aprox. 24 fps - two threads
As I understand Cell's SPU's is not used. Is it possible to use them in
x264 coding ?
May be some one from x264 developers team can make this job (may be with
some donations:) ? It is very interesting to obtain 8x performance. is
it possible sure ...
