[x264-devel] x.264 installation(2)

Dear all,
  Can someone tell me a straightforward way for installing x.264
on windows or Linux(i.e.any tutorial if available)?
  I am following the commands below in Linux:
  ./configure
  ./make 
  at this last line I encounter a problem that says :
  bash: ./make no such file or directory
