BTW, are there any plans to bring back a color space conversion utility to 
x264?
The reason why it should be in the video encoder IMHO is that location of 
chroma samples is specified in the h.264 specs. Different codecs like MPEG2, 
JPEG or DV place chorma samples on different locations, so resampling to the 
correct position is actually the encoder's business.
