I have developed a patch which will make it possible to change the ASM compiler being used. This is necessary for Nixpkgs to support x265 being compiled with LLVM as we can use this option to switch the ASM compiler to GCC and get around the endfunc issue with Clang.
See https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/330252 & https://bitbucket.org/multicoreware/x265_git/issues/550/new-aarch64-asm-code-does-not-build-with
