i tried streaming a HDTV stream using VLS/VLC. i also
tried playing the HDTV transport stream locally using
VLC. in both cases it worked, but the VLC app was
dropping frames.
i can playback the same HDTV file on the same pc,
using a third party MPEG-2 decoder under directX with
perfect playback - no drop frames.
it looks like the VLC decoder hasn't been optimized
for HDTV data rates.
