[Translators] File or Media in the menu of VLC

Hi

I have one question to the translators:
The first entry in the VLC menu is Media, but on 
the most apps/players on Windows
this entry is just File. I check 
some other players (mpc) and they all use File in the menu.
I 
translated it to File (in polish: Plik) but I'm not sure and other 
vlc-translations use Media.
The word Media also exists in the polish 
language but its not the exact meaning as in eng.
And the word File 
(Plik) doesn't include the Media meaning like audio-cd or dvd.
So, what is more precise, File
 (Plik) or Media ?
