yes, I thought that maybe one could optimize the assembler generated by gcc
- but as I said, assembler is something I've never done before (apart from
some 8086-asm in real-mode ;-) ).
No, the Apple DVD Player wasn't even installed with the update on my G3. My
ATI Rage 128 has a hardware dvd-decoder, but I have no idea if it would be
possible to use this, and if there is driver support on OSX.
But I tried the divx-plugin from divx.jamby.net and it plays fluently on my
G3. That's why I thought that there is a change for vlc too.
