[vlc-devel] bootstrap with FreeBSD5.3

Does anyone use FreeBSD to bootstrap?  I'm curious about the best way to 
deal with automake being installed as automake19 instead of automake-1.9.

I could just delete them from the ./bootstrap every time I want to run 
it, but is there an easier solution?
