[vlc-devel] Compile VLC on 64-bit machine

Tried to build VLC on a AMD64 machine running Mandriva 10.2. Saw a lot 
of suspicious error messages complaining about incompatible pointer 
types but have not investigated as yet.

However, build failed in cpu.c complaining about assembler errors in pop 
and push syntax. Are there any suggestions how to fix this? Briefly 
looking at the code I think much of this is irrelevant for the 64-bit 
processors as all the SSE, SSE2 and 3DNow! are present in all versions.
