[vlc-devel] [vlc-commits] posix: rely on F_DUPFD_CLOEXEC

Hi,

I don't think it's relevant who and why the UI was merged in a severe state of brokenness. We knew from earlier occasional regressions, third party bugs, and especially 0.9 era that breaking the UI gets on people's nerves very badly very quickly. And it's not just me.

For ****'s sake, just remind how people were pissed by the removal of the object tree panel - a much smaller loss of GUI convenience.

I don't follow how some people here can be so oblivious to this as to ask why the ambience has been crap since spring.

What is relevant is:
1) That it's still not fixed.
2) That Thomas keeps adding fuel to the fire by criticising people (especially but not only me), and representing his unstaffed hobbyist-averse mandatory review concept as the majority opinion with no facts to back it up.

If you have a better take on why the ambience went so sour, with the same people, since winter, I'd like to hear it...
