Good point.

Here's the discussion I found about it:
https://mailman.videolan.org/pipermail/vlc-devel/2019-May/124737.html
3 emails, 2 participants (including you), hardly any argument put
forward. I didn't give my opinion (I wasn't even aware of the matter),
and Alexandre's point hadn't been made. So unless that discussion was
had elsewhere, I would not say it has been had. And asserting again that
the topic is closed is a complete non-argument, and even counterfactual:
I brought it up last month, and it's getting brought up again now, so
it's obviously still going on.

The point is not about pushing blame around or questioning what I have
or have not contributed to the lua stack.

Can you be more specific? I browsed trac quickly but found nothing
such: at most minor stuff; however I did find lua tickets - including
youtube ones - that I wasn't even aware of and for which I somehow never
received any notification (thanks trac?); so it's very possible that I
just don't know about these issues and regressions that you mention.
Do you have specific ticket numbers that you could share with us, for
each of the above? And then maybe I can take a look at them. However,
keep in mind that my ability to fix lua issues will be limited if you
keep resisting my attempts to fix them, as in #17132, #17285 or now
#24957 - which might effectively contribute to the very thing you
denounce: lua staying broken.
Meanwhile, I have filed tickets for some of the most important issues
with the C CLI, which I mentioned last time: #24985, #24986, #24987,
#24988 and #24989.
I would have filed them the other week already, but I refrained from
it at that time, because I was worried of offending you or sounding
confrontational towards you.

What's your point with this (inaccurate) statement? What is this
supposed to imply? Aso, in the very email you're replying to, I was
asking you directly if you thought the whole lua stack should be
scrapped. But as I had expected, you haven't answered.
