Very jittery video - any solutions?

I wouldn't bother with glide. If you have a voodoo3 then the xvideo output
should work fine. I have voodoo3 2000 on a PIII 500, redhat 7.2 and vlc runs
as smooth as anything using XVideo. SDL used to work great as well but seems
to be broken for me in the 0.2.92pre1 release.
So my system is nearly identical to yours apart from me having a slight
advantage on the processor front. I seem to remember vlc skipping from time
to time in a recent version, but it's ok for me now. Which version are you
using?
