vlc- bug?

Hello Guys,

I've just downloaded vlc 0.2.80, installed it, and... it works fine - or 
it does not work fine.:( DVD is loaded, played, but 1. there is no sound, 
2. DVD runs, but all I see is a black screen.

Is it a bug, or am I the one being an asshole?:))

System: SuSE (! not RedHat, although I tried with rpm for RedHat - may be 
this the problem?) 7.2, kernel 2.4.4, NVIDIA GeForce 2MX 32 MB, PIII-800, 
768 MB RAM. Any idea?
