0.2.91 better but not right

Well, I 've installed all of the latest  vlc RPM's , but my problem is
not solved.
Now the disc is being accessed  correctly , yet I still have a video
problem.

what I see from the x11 output is : the  vertical center 1" strip is ok,
the remaining right side is
on the left and the remaining left screen is on the right .  It seems to
want to play the DVD but
if I try to change chapter it crashes. Refering to my previous E-mail
about when vlc crashes
my desktop background changes  to 256 color resolution just as when I
run DOOM.

 The only tie that I can see would be the x11 interface. Do you have any
way  of sending a "test"
pattern or know I could test this

Other Whines
        Sound and video out of sync
        Sound pops and clicks
        still unable to save DVD  preference (do I have use the window
history to remember all)
Would you please send me a e-mail  if you are interested in pursuring my
complaint's otherwise
I will proceeded to wipe out and reinstall my whole system in a week or
so.  Like I said before
I had version 2.8.3 working before I installed a lot of packages (mostly
games & PostgresQL.
Personally I would like to know what got messed up and think you would
like to know as well.
I didn't force any installations but I am not sure what package if any
is causing this problem ,
the timing suggests it how ever.
