I don't know much about SuSE, but I had a look at :
http://www.suse.de/en/private/download/gnomes/i386/update_for_7_3/devel.html

Maybe you need the 'gnome-core-devel' and 'gnome-libs-devel' packages.

Otherwise, do like I usually do : install them once par once :)
