[vlc] Bug with sound in file transcoded

I transcode a file from a DVD using VLC 0.8.1 and options mp4v/mp4a and 
Quicktime as Encapsulation method (.mov), when I play the file using 
VLC the video and audio are OK; but if I try using QuickTime Player 
(with the 3ivx D4 4.0PR2 codec) in about 60% of the DVDs I have sound 
problems: the sound is continuosly interrupted each ~6 seconds by 
silence (~0.5 sec.), the video is OK.

This is MacOSX 10.3.7 with QuickTime 6.5.2 in a 2x1.8Ghz G5.
