[vlc] 0.7.0 problems

A few issues I found with 0.7.0 on Win2K
playing DVDs.

1) Audio output format not recognised.
This results in a horribly loud buzzing
and shreeking noise until you can switch
the audio format. It always defaults to
stereo or higher quality. It does this
on *every* title change/selection.
Playing mono DVDs is no fun like this
(For TV series DVDs and classic movies).
PowerDVD seems to know automatically the
audio format. Can VLC be taught this?

Or could there be at least a preference
for the audio default - soon?

2) Changing audio language freezes the
OS. This was a U.S. region 1 DVD. I just
tried switching English to French. Cold
boot necessary.
No problem with PowerDVD.

3) Incorrect DVD drive letter causes OS
to freeze (cold boot necessary). Seems
to automatically use drive "D:"? I set
it to a different drive also in the
preferences, but drive letters change.
(Was same in 6.x). Again PowerDVD seems
to find the correct letter.

The good news is I can play DVDs without
region locking and finally view my Region 1
and 2 DVDs without extra software, yay! :-)
Not a new "feature", I know, but it's
great.

Thanks,

Marcus
