[vlc] Sound Problem

OS:XP SP1a
Hardware:Pentium4 2.4 Ghz mobile,ATI Radeon 9600 Pro mobile,MB SiS 645DX,External Soundcard:Creative Mp3+
VLC version:0.7.1
Problem:VLC doesnt play the sound of any media anymore after i have installed the creative drivers for my external soundcard.Other players play the sound just fine.If i uninstall the creative drivers,then i am able to play the sound with VLC.I believe,that this is some incompatibility between VLC and the Creative drivers.
Could you fix that?Thanks in advance!
