Uhm, that's strange since other media players such as real one player (with h263 plugin) successfully play it,
I'll give a look at the sdp exchanged during the DESCRIBE, thanks for the advice.
However if VLC gets a broken sdp during the DESCRIBE, why should it go on with an OPTIONS request?
Maybe that's implementation dependent :-)

unfortunately that link is on a private lan.
Have you got some links of public servers which stream RTSP/RTP h263 video?
They would be useful to isolate the problem.
