I recommend using a third party repository as www.freshrpms.net for this
purpose. There you find vlc 0.7.2
(http://tettnang.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=374) and all needed packages.
Dag Wieers has a newer version, 0.8.1, at:
http://dag.wieers.com/packages/videolan-client/
