[vlc] USB capture device with VLC streaming?

I want to do two live streams from one Linux computer, which can only 
run one PVR-250 capture card (only one 5v pci slot).

I'm wondering how feasible it would be to do the second stream from a 
usb capture device using v4l.

Can anyone recommend an approriate USB 2/MPEG 2 hardware capture device 
for NTSC (USA). I only care about the svideo input, not the tuner.

As a further question is there a USB or Firewire device that would work 
for HD capture from component or rgb?
