[vlc] Any encoders to test VLC's decoding function?

Dear all, 
    I've looking for a freeware multimedia encoder that can generate
different formats of bitstreams.  So I can test VLC's function
including MPEG-1/2/4, VC1 and Audio's MP3, AAC, WMA etc. Are there any
such encoders that can be fed by YUV input format from VQEG?  Thanks a
lot!~
