[vlc] MPEG-2 streaming

Dear All,

I am building a web application and one of it's features is to enable
streaming of a portion (from->to) of an MPEG-2 file. Is that possible
with VLC? If so could someone give me some hints on how to do it, or
what is another tool that would allow to do so.

Can VLC be used as an embeded viewer?
