Just a some detail/tip, you should use the "svn diff" so you don't have
to keep several copy of the sources.

When i right click on a node or leaf of the tree i have a preparse
command which do what you want ( if i understand correctly:).

We indeed need a new format for the new playlist structure. Zorglub made
an attempt long time ago which was rejected for some reasons ( bad or
good ( conservatism, too verbose format, ...)).
You have good ideas, you should try to get on IRC on #videolan on the
irc.freenode.net network and talk to the devs, especially zorglub as he
designed the current playlist architecture.
