[vlc] videolan frame by frame skipping & external sound

i want to use videolan as a replacement for quicktime, but the two most
important featrues aren`t implemented and as i contacted the author, it
sound like they will never be implemented in cause of technical
possibility limitations.

how is it possible to implement a "frame by frame skip forward and
backward" feature?

how ist it possible to implement a "load external soundfile" feature?
