[vlc] .flac files

Hi,

Appreciate it if someone can advise me.

For the first time I have acquired some .flac files and found out that VLC
will play them. My older version of VLC did not, so I downloaded and
installed V0.8.4a but my .flac files still do not play.

Is there a setting I missed? Pls advise.
