[vlc] how to stream MP4S

what configuration steps do I need to be able to use vlc and MP4S

I am getting

[00000268] main playlist error: Reloading playlist not implemented.

signal 2 received, terminating vlc - do it again in case it gets stuck
user insisted too much, dying badly

I am trying to stream a WVC200 linksys camera http://ip/img/video.asf

it is an MP4S stream.

Also how do I send a user name and password to the http: input stream?

I am using centos 4.5 and vlc-snapshot-20070701.
