[vlc] Critical Bug in VLC Media Player

Hi there,

I've found a frustrating problem with VLC. I am trying to stream a chapter of a DVD to a file. Here're my steps from the starting user interface:
  1.. Media > Convert / Save
  2.. Disc tab
  3.. DVD radio button
4.. No DVD menus check box - checked
  5.. Convert / Save button
6.. File check box - checked
  7.. Filename text box - (My Documents)\My Videos\John_Farnham_Chain_Reaction.mpg
  8.. Profile drop-box - MPEG-2
  9.. Save button
At this point, I receive an Illegal Operation notification. This is in v0.9.8a. Also, on a previous version but still with the most recent GUI layout, the disk would be streamed successfully, but would produce some sort of memory access error on closing VLC if I had checked the "Dump raw input" check box between steps 7 & 8, and the file will not have been written to hard disk. Is it possible to notify me when the next version is out and this bug is corrected?

Regards,
Zeke Porter

P.S.
I understand FOSS is run by volunteers who are not getting paid. I apologise if at all I sounded too demanding.
