[vlc] VLC upgrade fails from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1

Hi,

I  am unable to upgrade to the latest version (1.0.1) of VLC from my
previous version (1.0.0).   The sequence was as follows

"Check for Updates"
Do you want to download it?   - yes
Browse For Folder  - F:\temp  (This is a writable directory for the user)
Saving file failed   Failed to open "F:\temp\" for writing

I am able to create the folder "F:\temp\" and copy any file into it.  But
VLC upgrader sees the above problem.
Could you give me an insight into this problem ?
