[vlc] closing program

HI,

I used to be able to close vlc by clicking on red X when I was finished
using the program, but now it keep running in the taskbar.

What is the fix to get it back to the last version as it used to do that for
me.

By unchecking the "show systray icon"? Will that do it?

If I click on the icon in the tray it closes but I would like to have it lie
before when I close the red X it closes.
