[vlc] To suggest you some new functions and to report some problems

Thank you for inclusion of some of my suggestions in the latest version of
VLC Media Player.

I felt very affected when I saw that some of my suggestions were applied in
this software.

But I want to insist a) to add more different skins (that are available in
your website) and

to select them as the interface language selection but with previewing them
before saving

the selection, b) to add a button in the interface menu, that automatically
set the volume 100%, c) to enable automatic updating and installing the
updates, like SKYPE or

MOZILLA FIREFOX updates. This way to be enabled for all the operating
systems, as

soon as possible, d) to enable setting VLC Media Player as the default media
player of

PC with only a click.

For continuing to give recommendations to you, I want to send to you other
problems

and recommendations for you to fix or to add. I hope that you will try to
find solutions for my problem reporting and suggestions.

I have a Windows XP Service pack 3, and I want to improve more this media
player for

Windows OS.

1) Youtube is one of the most visited websites in the world. Some of the
users want only

   to see the videos of Youtube. But some others want to download them in
their PC.

   For this reason I think that it will be better to start developing a
function inside

   VLC Media Player, for downloading videos from Youtube. For this reason,
create a

   new menu specified for the download, between menus MEDIA and PLAYBACK

   named for example “Download”. The way of doing this is by copying the URL
of

   Youtube video and pasting it in the command of “Download” menu named

   This will made more popular VLC Media Player, and

   isn’t necessary to install specific softwares like Orbit downloader or
Youtube

  downloader.

2) Also allow to download from Youtube to mp3 format files with the best
quality.

   In the menu “Download” that I explained in the last paragraph, add a
command for this

   function, named for example: “Download as mp3 file”

3) Sometimes is required to rip the audio from the video files. So I am
saying that from a

   video file to make a new file that contains only the audio of this video
without

  destroying or deleting the video from PC. Actually this function is not
available in

  VLC Media Player. If it is possible for you to add this function, please
do it as soon as

  posibile.

4) If wanted to record an audio or video conversation from a VOiP or an
messenger

   service like popular softwares such as Skype, Windows Live, Yahoo
messenger with

   the authorization of these services (it means a legal record). This
function to be enabled

5) Add a function that enable voice recording from an installed device such
as a

   Microphone, with only high quality sound, and then saving this file as a
mp3 file in the

   PC

6) Add also a function that records videos from web camera (or a camera
connected with

   the PC via USB Port or via Bluetooth) of course with audio. For this 2
last functions

   create a menu named for example “Record” and with commands “record an
audio”

   and “record a video from webcam (or similar connected device)”

For each of this 6 new functions to be enabled saving of the new files
(video or mp3 audio downloaded from Youtube, audio ripped, conversation
recorded from a VOiP and voice or video recording) in a folder selected
before doing this functions (in the Preferences menu), or after, like in MS
WORD, EXCEL saving documents etc.

7) If the photos and images are considered as media files, enable viewing
them with

   VLC Media Player for the most popular types like JPEG etc. For viewing
them there

   are some manners like in slideshows (for all the photos of a selected
folder), or like in

   touchscreen mobile phones (when the photos slide by finger) or by mouse
for non

   touchscreen displays. This second option will be a fantastic choice for
all of the users

   which have a touchscreen display, or an ipad.

8) When the video is paused to be enabled zooming in it like in Windows
Picture and Fax

   Writer. This function is necessary when the user during playing the
video, see anything

   that wants to see in a “detailed” mode.

9) When the user wants to play only the audio of a video file, enable
playing this video

   file as an audio file (without picture of video). This function to be
enabled with a

   command in the PLYBACK menu named for example “Play this video as audio”.

10) Considering that Blu Ray DVD players and Blu Ray DVDs are becoming
defused

   increasingly in the laptops it is necessary to continue developing the
read of Blue ray

   with their true quality. Also improve playing HD files with their true
quality.

   Because of arriving of 3D viewing, please prepare for developing a
technology that

   enables viewing 3D movies or videos in the best quality

11) Allow displaying Advanced Controls such as “take a snapshot”, “record”,
“frame by

   frame”, “loop from point A to point B continuously” in the default
interface view of

   VLC Media Player. Some users don’t know that these functions exist.

12) When I tried to open an Youtube video with VLC Media Player, by copying
the

    video URL and then pasting it, by using the menu Media and the commands
“open

    network stream” and “open location from clipboard”, VLC Media Player
doesn’t

    play the file. I don’t know if the problem was my location or anything
else, but I

    suggest you to test more this function. It is not useful and must be
improved more.

13) Increase in maximum the quality of the photos captured from a video by
“take a

     snapshot” function. Actually these photos are with a low quality.

Below are some other small suggestions for you to apply.

13) Resize the help dialog box (HELP…..HELP) F1, in a way that isn’t
necessary

    to use the scroll bar

14) In the menu Help….About, set your official webpage and email address

    (www.videolan.org , and  vlc at videolan.org ) as hyperlinks: clicking on
them opens

    the default web browser (for the web page) or the default email program
(for the email

    address)

15) When you release a new version of VLC Media Player, name it in a
progressive way.

    It means that from the version 1.0.5 to release the version 1.0.6 and
then 1.0.7 etc.

These recommendations to be applied for all the versions of the different
operating systems, as soon as possible.
