I would like to try out version 1.06 or get on you beta program, etc. The
reason being is that I have re-encoded my library of videos to work on a
universal h.264 format that will run on the iphone, the xbox and on the pc
as well as with ORB.
The latest version, 1.05 seems to have a LOT of issues with the sound
codecs. I was dissapointed. Many of my files will not play the audio at all,
or seem to have stuttering on the audio even though the stream is a high
quality format. We stream to our main
Pioneer Elite Plasma TV in the living room using a PC and VLC as the player
of choice. Even with the large cache setting on, the darn thing stutters
and has issues. Sometimes no sound at ALL!! I am then forced to use MSFT's
piece of crap windows media player as the player which is not light weight
and doesn't support a lot of the same features.
I did see on statistics page that 1.06 is being downloaded, I just didn't
see a link to it.
I believe we would be good candidates for beta as we are heavy users with 6
kids in the house, and they all have
their own pc's to watch videos and do home work on. In total, we have about
13 pc's with a mixture of laptops on
wifi and servers for content. About 1200 dvd-blueray quality video files on
hand and then of course, online content.
