[vlc] I can NOT watch videos anymore using vlc ...

 or any other video utility.

 Sound, however, seems to be fine. I just don't see the graphic part
of the video

 I even tried using ffmpeg to record as a video my own screen which I
can see just fine, but when I tried watching it using vlc, I couldn't
