please have a look at the VLC-section of the developer page 
<developers.videolan.org>. You can find there detailed information 
about VLC from the programmer's point of view. You can find additional 
stuff in the doc-directory of the vlc trunk. If you have further 
questions about VLC, feel free to ask on the vlc-devel mailing-list, 
the forum or our IRC channel, but the www-doc mailing-list or 
webmaster at videolan.org is not an appropriate place for this.
