Search the best intra mode after inter macroblock mode decision sucks very much.
It uses much computation for only about 3% optimization. So it will be
a good tradeloff to disable Intra macroblock for performance reason.
When will be a good chance to use the feature?
Hmmm...such as realtime video capture/recording and video conferencing.
Of course maybe someone will not want to wait for a long time to
encode a video file.
