[x265] divide, encode, combine?

Michael,
I'm not sure of a good source/discussion for this, but certainly what you
describe is possible, and we are aware of a number of encoder applications
that do this today with x264 and x265.

Subject: [x265] divide, encode, combine?

Hello.

I was wondering if anyone could refer to a good source/discuss on whether
or not source video can be divided into N parts, then have each part x265
encoded (2-pass, 6Mb/s output, highest quality), and then joined back
together? (And obviously have the end result be visually indistinct from
the results of strict linear processing?) The idea being to spread the
workload out across N compute systems.

-Michael
