[Translators] Regression in the Mac menu?

Appealing to my inner calm :)

Thanks for the clarification but .... can we have this feature back 
please? The system preferences in OSX are not a workable solution. Prior 
to 10.8 for example Scottish Gaelic was not available at all. Even now, 
having set my MacBook to Scottish Gaelic (as the top preferred language, 
I will die from laughter the day Apple localizes into our language), VLC 
does not come up in Gaelic.

Secondly the majority of languages spoken on this planet are not 
supported as UI languages or locales by Apple. As a result, any such 
language joining VLC for localization will only get their work on screen 
on Windows/Linux, not OSX. Gaelic being a half-case in question. True, 
not all are actively localizing but why put an obstacle then the code 
was already there?

Having a look at the languages being localized on Transifex and 
comparing with the locales offered on the latest OSX, I would say the 
following have the same problem:
Acoli (low %), Aragonese (82%), Asturian (83%), Fulah (23%), Scottish 
Gaelic (43%)

There may be some in the non-Latin range too but I cannot read all those.

I'm somewhat surprised this was removed without mentioning on the 
translators list, I would have objected back then.
